FOI Request - Clodagh Bridge
Request 101003140428
1. Would you very kindly send me details of the expected costs of a new structure, as I understand that the sum being voiced by Moray Council is in excess of what CAN be done a great deal cheaper
2. Please inform me why it was deemed necessary to have a bridge there at all when traffic was a fraction of its present amount.

1. The cost to replace the bridge is £2,900,000 made up of £2,000,000 for design and construction works and £900,000 for optimisms Bias.
2. Pre-1900 there was a ford at this location. It is therefore assumed that the bridge was installed to remove the need to use the ford. At this time the road was also straightened to the west. These can be reviewed on the National Libraries of Scotland online web map.
