FOI Request - Noise Complaints
Request 101003126026
I write to you to request information under the freedom of information Act and relates to complaints about noise.
For each of the last three years (August 1st - July 31st), can you please advise of the following:
1) How many complaints has your council received from residents in residential properties about excessive noise emanating from their neighbours' property?
2) If held, what were the most common complaints? ie: Music? Loud voices? Dogs? Arguments? etc.
3) How did your council deal with the complaints? ie: How many prosecutions were there? How many warnings? How many ASBOs were issued? etc

2. To get this information we would have to look at every request as our system allows us to record the source of the noise; however, this is not separated into the different categories. Given the number of records, looking through them individually would take in excess of 40 hours and his would cost the Council in excess of £600. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, excessive cost, we are therefore unable to comply with your request.
3. Warnings only. No FPNs, ASBOs or Prosecutions.
