1. Information not held - we do not record the footfall for our recycling centres. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held. in order to be helpful, please note that four of our sites operate 09:00 – 16:00 Monday to Saturday, and 10:00 – 15:00 on Sundays. The fifth site operates 08:00 -16:00 Monday to Saturday, closed on Sunday.
2. Since the introduction of the booking system in June 20 we have had over 65,000 visits (the maximum retained number of bookings held on the system). We take additional bookings for disposing of asbestos, this averages at 12 per month.
We introduced a booking system for our 4 main Household Waste Recycling Centres from June 20 to comply with social distancing within the Covid 19 guidelines. This limited bookings on each site to 6 per 20minutes. This was increased to 10 per 20 minutes from Nov 20. Our small site at our landfill site remained closed from March 20 until August 21 due to the fact that we could not practise any social distancing on the site due to Health and Safety issues with access to the site. In August 2021 we removed the booking system from 3 of the sites, and re-opened the small site at the landfill site. We retained the booking system for our site in Elgin due to Health and Safety issues.
