FOI Request - Wind Turbines
Request 02-02-2022
1. How many wind turbines larger than 0.5MW have been installed since 2007 (inclusive of the year 2007)?
2. For each turbine larger than 0.5MW installed since 2007 (inclusive of the year 2007), please can we request the following information:
Permitting
• Environmental Statement, Figures and Appendices.
• Any Supplementary Environmental Information (SEI) / Addendum submissions, Figures and Appendices.
• Noise studies for the candidate WTG type.
Planning
• Complete planning application, including written application, Design & Access statement, and all plans.
• Planning permission including conditions.
• Documents and plans submitted to discharge conditions
• Approval / notice of conditions being discharged.
• Were there any other consents required – highways etc?
• Has there been any notice of possible enforcement action?
Lease and Options
• Copies of all signed Agreements and side agreements / letters.

There are approximately 150-200 turbines or greater that are potentially covered within the scope of this request. In order to produce the information required for this request, the documentation for each turbine would need to be examined manually by Council staff. This is estimated to be take in excess of 1000 hours of staff time (exact time taken depends on exact number of turbines), and as such the related cost in staff time would be in excess of £600. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), excessive cost, we are therefore unable to comply with your request.
