FOI Request - Residential Rehabilitation
Request 101002974012
To clarify beforehand, by residential rehabilitation, what is meant is residential stays at one of the 18 facilities outlined in the Scottish Government mapping report. For example, an individual who commenced a placement at Kinclaven Ward at Murray Royal Hospital would not be defined as residential rehabilitation as this is solely for detoxification purposes.
For reference, the date 2007 marks the beginning of the SNP governance at Holyrood.
Please see the link included to the Scottish Government release on £100m funding in to be dispersed between all 32 local authorities for reference to in Query 1.
Where days/weeks have been requested, whatever timeframe the local authority measures these stays in will suffice.
1. In February 2021, the Scottish Government issued local authorities with ring-fenced money to be spent specifically on the residential rehabilitation for individuals living with drug/alcohol dependencies. Can you please specify how much money the local authority’s drug and alcohol team was granted in this regard and provide a breakdown of how this money has been spent so far (For instance, how many individual’s residential rehab placements have commenced, how many days/weeks of residential rehab have been funded by this money, which facilities have the local authority commenced rehabilitation placements for applicants at, and details of any other spending of this money.)
2. Prior to this funding being granted, what was the local authority’s drug and alcohol team’s annual budget for funding and commencing residential rehabilitation each year since 2007.
3. How many residential rehabilitation placements have the local authority’s drug and alcohol team funded and commenced in total each year since 2007, which facilities were used each year and how many days/weeks of rehabilitation in total each year were commenced and funded by the local authority.
4. What criteria do the council’s drug and alcohol team assess when for commencing residential rehabilitation placements when assessing suitability for residential rehabilitation.
5. How is the success of residential rehabilitation measured following council placements and what evaluation does the local authority have on its drug and alcohol team’s success rate from residential rehabilitation each year since 2007.
