• What proportion of local authority schools have smoke alarms fitted? 100% - all schools have smoke detectors fitted.
• Of those with smoke alarms, what proportion have smoke alarms that are manually operated and not linked to the fire service? From 21st February all schools within the Elgin Associated School Group will have their smoke detectors monitored by a response centre with all other schools within Moray going live on this system from 7 March. From 8 March there will be no manually operated detectors.
