FOI Request - Road Accident Repair Sites

I am looking to identify the 10 most common sites for repairs after road accidents, for example – specific bridges/walls that have been hit by vehicles.

•             Please provide me with
1)            The 10 locations the council has been called out to repair damage following a road accident
2)            Type of damage
3)            The cost of each repair
-              Please provide this breakdown for the last five years.

•             Please also provide me with a total cost of repairs for such incidents for the last five years.

1. Over the past 5 years, there have been 20 bridge sites which have suffered collision damage:

The most commonly damaged site was Garbity Bridge, which has been damaged 3 times.
The second most frequently damaged site was Daluaine Bridge, which has been damaged twice.
The remaining 18 bridge sites have been damaged once each.  

2. Type of damage

Garbity Bridge was hit on three separate occasions within the period.  On each occasion the damage was partial collapse of the masonry parapet.  
On one occasion the steel safety barrier on the approach to Garbity Bridge was also damaged.  
Daluaine Bridge was hit on two separate occasions within the period.  On each occasion the damage was partial collapse of the masonry parapet.  

3. The cost of each repair

Garbity Bridge 1st Repair Cost £14,088.00
Garbity Bridge 2nd Repair Cost £nil                  (bridge was hit again and the section which was slightly damaged in this collision was demolished in the subsequent collision)
Garbity Bridge 3rd Repair Cost £5,368.00
Daluaine Bridge 1st Repair Cost £6,152.45
Daluaine Bridge 2nd Repair Cost £238.02

Total cost of RTC damage to bridge sites over the past 5 years is £224,708.57

Note: Accident stats received from Police Scotland are injury only, therefore the Council is not always informed about damage caused.  No list is kept by the Council of all damage caused to assets if we are made aware.  The Council is only able to recover costs caused due to accident damage if the culprit is identified.
