In August 2021 the Scottish Government published a new document "Supporting Transgender Pupils in Schools: Guidance for Scottish Schools" available here:

Q1. Is this guidance used by schools in the local authority area? If so, which schools?
Schools have not yet been advised to refer to this guidance when necessary, but they have been referred to the LGBT Youth/transgender Scotland guidance on which it it based.
Schools are also advised that the guidance is just that: guidance and that each case should be considered on an individual basis.
It is also recommended that schools use it together with the EHRC's Technical Guidance for Schools in Scotland in situations where there may be a conflict between the interests of various groups protected under the Equality Act 2010. https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/publication-download/technical-guidance-schools-scotland
