I'm looking for information on the following.
1. What percentage of households have had access to a separate food waste collection service in each of the past three years?
2. What percentage of households disposed of food waste in their general waste bin in each of the past three years?
3. How many tonnes of household food waste have been collected in each of the past three years and how is that waste managed?

1. What percentage of households have had access to a separate food waste collection service in each of the past three years?

We currently offer all our domestic properties a waste food collection, with the option of mixing it with garden waste if they purchase a Garden Waste permit. Our collection is a mixed food and garden waste. This has been in place across the county since 2015.
We do not do any commercial food waste collections.

2. What percentage of households disposed of food waste in their general waste bin in each of the past three years?

This hasn’t been comprehensively audited since 2017, therefore we cannot provide an accurate figure. This information therefore falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information Not Held.

3. How many tonnes of household food waste have been collected in each of the past three years and how is that waste managed?

1/4/18 – 31/3/19 10209.09
1/4/19 – 31/3/20 8578.88
1/4/20 – 31/3/21 9481.70

All our food and green waste is collected as an In-house collection, and delivered by us to:
Keenans Recycling, New Deer, Aberdeenshire The material is then composted (In vessel composted)
