FOI Request - 2021 SQA National Qualifications

Request 101002817315

I would be grateful if you could provide the following information under freedom of information legislation:

• Any details of the ‘quality assurance’ processes in this local authority in relation to the grades for SQA National Qualifications that are to be submitted to the SQA by 25 June.

By way of clarification, a recent Education Scotland report found that most local authorities are cross-checking teachers’ estimated grades with a schools prior attainment record:
‘Most local authorities have developed bespoke data analysis tools to support school-level quality assurance. These provide key attainment information in an easily accessible format that will allow staff to analyse provisional results against three-year of five-year trends from historical data…Local authority officers plan to analyse trends to discuss this year’s provisional results with headteachers, with a particular focus on verifying the data and identifying and challenging results or attainment patterns which appear anomalous.’ (Pg. 6).

I would be grateful if you could provide details of any such processes being undertaken in this local authority in connection with the 2021 National Qualifications.
