Please provide me with a copy of:
• The Performing Animals (Regulation) Act 1925 register kept by your local authority to include all persons who registered between the dates 1st January 2000 and 31st October 2020.
For each person listed in the register, information should be included in the copy of the register regarding: 1) the animals to be trained or exhibited; and 2) the general nature of the performances. This information is provided by each person when they apply to be included on the register, typically in the following format: 1) kind and number of animals trained and kind and number of animals exhibited; 2) brief description of the general nature of the performance(s) in which the animals are to be exhibited or for which they are to be trained. If this information is not stated in the copy of the register requested above, please provide me with this information separately.

Please also answer the following questions:
• Does your local authority carry out an inspection of the premises where animals are housed as part of the application process to be registered under the Performing Animals (Regulation) Act 1925?
• If the answer is yes, who carries out this inspection? E.g. local authority officer, veterinary surgeon, other (please state). Please provide me with a copy of all inspection reports submitted by inspectors to your local authority between 1st January 2000 and 31st October 2020 following inspection of the premises of people applying to register under the Performing Animals (Regulation) Act 1925.

In accordance with section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, we confirm no register is held as we have no record of any such licence going back as far as our records will go.

If we were to receive such an application then it is common practice in animal related licences for an officer from Environmental Health to undertake a joint visit to any premises with a vet, as part of the consultation process.
