FOI Request - Track and Trace App

Request 101002636750

I would like to request that, under FOISA, the council release all material it holds regarding the use of the Track & Trace mobile phone app in schools.

This material may include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Any documents providing briefings, analysis, evaluation or other data regarding the use of the app in schools
• Details of any meetings at which the use of the app in schools was discussed
• Any communications (such as those from central council staff to headteachers, or from headteachers to teaching staff) regarding the use of the app in schools
(Please note that this would also include, for example, communications in which teachers are advised not to have their phones with them during the working day / while teaching classes, if such material exists).

The time frame for this request is 01/08/2020 to present.

Response 07-12-2020

The only recorded information that is held is an extract from the weekly HT/staff briefing on 8 October:

Track and Trace

Many staff may have signed up for the NHS track and trace app and as with everything technological there is a warning here about storage of devices.  Can you please remind staff that if they are storing their mobile phones in bags or desks within staffrooms or staff bases that it may register that these have been in close contact for more than 15 minutes even though the staff members themselves have not been near each other.  This has become evident when people have been contacted by track and trace.
