Response 28-08-2019

Information for 2017/2018 was collated for the annual return to Scottish Government. Information for 2018/2019 has not yet been collated.

Routine squad work includes:- painting and decorating community and school halls; general tidy up of environmental and community areas; litter collection; grass cutting and gardening; maintenance of footpaths in rural locations; furniture removal; snow and ice clearing during winter months; woodworking; bench making, making raised beds and craftwork which benefits day centres; nurseries and costal paths etc; collecting and delivery for the  Christmas Toy Appeal; setting up barriers, tables and tents for community events ie musical events and food and drink events .

Every year we also have “one off” requests, for example, in this reporting year we had request from a local business man to plant daffodil bulbs along a cycle route in memory of his grandmother who had recently died. We planted these in October before the frosts and by spring 2018 the daffodils were in full bloom and provided a beautiful display for those using the cycle path and also for commuters on the main transport link, the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen route which passes through Moray.

In 17/18 we had placements with  Trees for Life; Forres in Bloom; various charity shops ie Sue Ryder, Blytheswood; Community Foodbank; Keith and Dufftown Railway; Reboot and  Lossiemouth Lighthouse.
