We would like to know how much plastic recycling is sent for recycling in the UK and how much is exported and what countries this is exported too.

All the mixed cans and plastics collected within Moray are sent to our Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) located in Lossiemouth, Moray, where it is segregated into aluminium cans, steel cans, types 1 & 2 plastics, non recyclable plastics and general waste.  The type 1 & 2 plastics are sent to Wyllie Recycling Services, Inveralmond Industrial Estate, Perth, PH1 3UF where it is granulated and sold for re-use in plastics manufacturing. Last year we sent 839.36 tonnes of plastic for recycling.

All the non-recyclable plastics and general waste sorted at our MRF goes to our landfill site at Nether Dallachy, Moray.
