FOI Request - Refuse Collection

The Council will provide a Domestic Waste Refuse Collection Service to residents within the Local Authority’s jurisdiction.

Assuming that this service is directly delivered by the Council can I please request information regarding the following in relation to the broad terms and conditions of those employed as refuse collection operatives:

What is the grading and the salary scales associated with those grades (For Ex. Grade 3 - £15.899 - £17,345) of:

1. Refuse Collectors (Loaders)
2. Waste Collection Drivers (non-LGV) or equivalent (if indeed the Council employs drivers who are not required to hold a current LGV license but work within Refuse Collection) and
3. Waste Collection Drivers (LGV) – Those required to hold a current LGV license as part of their employment within the Refuse Collection Service.

In addition I would also like to request the following information regarding these employees general Ts&Cs:

4. Does the Council pay any additional Working Time Payments (WTPs) (shift allowances) to any or all of the above employees? If so, what WTPs apply to each of the above job roles?

5. What enhances does the Council offer those employed in the above roles when working public holidays (i.e. Are staff paid double or treble time on public holidays?)

What is the grading and the salary scales associated with those grades (For Ex. Grade 3 - £15.899 - £17,345) of:

1. Grade 3 = £17,681.56 – £19,028.36

2. We have van drivers without an LGV who have different remits. Their grades are as follows;
o Grade 3 = £17,681.56 – £19,028.36
o Grade 4 = £19,316.96 – £21,087.04

3. Grade 4 = £19,316.96 – £21,087.04

4. Our cleansing staff do not work shifts therefore not WTPs available

5. Double time for working public holidays
