Aberlour Youthpoint - Moray Intensive Community Support Service
The target group is 12 to 18 year olds. The eligibility criteria is disadvantaged, excluded, vulnerable challenging young people and their families. Referrals from social work.
Provides flexible support to young people and their families, in order for them to gain and retain control of their lives and to remain in their own home in their own community.
Aberlour Youthpoint - Moray Mentoring Service
The target group is 12 to 25 year old young people affected by a range of issues that have a negative impact on their wellbeing. The service welcomes referrals for young people who are experiencing difficulties with the transition from school to the world of work, training or further education. Common reasons for referral are: victim of bullying, engaging in anti-social behaviour, affected by others substance misuse, not having a positive peer group and those struggling to cope with homelessness or having difficulty adjusting to having their own tenancy.
Volunteer mentors, both adults and other young people (Peer Mentors) provide one-to-one support and group activities to reduce isolation, increase peer interaction and promote positive behaviour. Referrals taken from partner agencies e.g. schools, social work, police and other third sector organisations. Young people can also self-refer to the service.
