Forres Town Regeneration

Funded by the Moray Council, a Conservation Area Appraisal, Management & Action Plans and Interpretation Strategy for the Forres Conservation Area have been prepared. These provide spatial & building analysis, public realm audit, historical background and detailed costs guidance for proposed future regeneration works in Forres.  To view the documents click here:

These will assist with the developments of attracting and retaining visitors to Forres, to regenerate the High Street and to allow making full use of the rich Heritage experience Forres has to offer.

Forres Conservation & Heritage Scheme

Partnership project where we will be looking at the Forres Conservation Area, exploring ways and ideas to develop, promote and protect the historic character.

Partners include representatives from Forres Heritage Trust, Forres Area Forum, Forres in Bloom, Forres Area Community Trust (FACT), Leanchoil Trust, Forres Community Council, Findhorn Bay Arts, Friends of the Falconer Museum, Visit Moray Speyside, heritage and business, with Moray Council elected members supported by Moray Council Economic Growth & Regeneration Team.

During the development phase, a key element was to update the Forres Conservation Area Documents.

LDN Architects were contracted to undertake this, and they produced the Forres Conservation Area Maintenance and Management Plan which covered a materials audit, management and maintenance strategy, guidance and action plan.
