Sheltered Housing
Moray Council provides sheltered housing and the services of a warden to help you to continue to live safely and independently with the support you may need and want. The warden on site will visit or telephone you daily, if required.
The cost of the warden service charge is £35.42 per week for the current financial year of 2024/25.
We can carry out a financial assessment with you to see if you are eligible for a discount on the service charge.
You may also choose to have your home fitted with the Moray Lifeline community alarm to make sure help is available at any time in an emergency. The charge for your Moray Lifeline community alarm is £44.18 per quarter and it is invoiced separately from the warden service charge. To be eligible for the alarm you must have at least two (preferable three) named contacts for emergencies.
You can find out more about the Moray Lifeline on our web page here.
Larch Court sheltered housing complex in Elgin, is our only purpose built complex under one roof, and the Moray Lifeline community alarm is connected to the safety features of the building. A condition of living at this complex is that you must accept and pay for the Moray Lifeline community alarm charges.
