MLDP: Background and Development
The plan was formally adopted on 31 July 2015.
There were four key stages involved in the development of the Moray Local Development Plan.
Stage 1. Main Issues Report
The report was consulted upon between November 2012 and February 2012.
Stage 2. Proposed Local Development Plan
The proposed plan was out for consultation between March and May 2014. It represents our view of what form the adopted plan should take.
Stage 3. Examination
Representations of the proposed plan were considered and responses agreed at a special meeting of the Planning and Regulatory Services Committee on 11 September 2014.
We submitted the proposed Moray Local Development Plan for examination on 26 September 2014. Further information and documents relating to the examination, please visit DPEA.
Information on all representation responses can be found in an alphabetical index.
The examination report (PDF) was published on 30 April 2015 and provided recommendations of the changes that should be made to the plan. We had to act upon these recommendations before adopting the plan.
When the proposed plan was published, consultation was also undertaken on seven draft Supplementary Guidance documents. Comments on Supplementary Guidance were reported to the Planning and Regulatory Services Committee on 11 September 2014 along with Planning Officers recommendation. These comments are not subject to examination by the reporter. Our response and conclusion to the comments on Supplementary Guidance can be found in this report (PDF).
Stage 4. Post Examination Modifications and Adoption
Modified Plan 2015
Our Planning and Regulatory Services Committee on 24 June 2015 approved the modifications arising from the examination process and we submitted the plan on 26 June 2015 to the Scottish Government.
We were permitted to adopt the plan 28 days after submission.
