FOI Request - Social Services Children
I would like to receive information on the contacts made to children's social services department regarding concerns about children and young people.
I would like to know:
i) Any minimum standards for the number of social workers which are on call during the out of hours periods.
ii) The number of times the available number of social workers have fallen below the minimum number required during out of hours periods (broken down each month since January 2011).
iii) The number of contacts made to the children services department during office hours each month since January 2011 AND the number of these calls which were answered/unanswered AND the number of these calls which were passed on to a social worker.
iv) The number of contacts made to the children services department out of hours number each month since January 2011 AND the number of these calls which were answered/unanswered AND the number of these calls which were passed on to a social worker.
If this request would take longer than the time available,I would ask that you firstly attempt to fulfil the request without disclosing the information regarding the number of calls which were passed on to social workers (see parts iii and iv).
If the request is still over the available time, I would ask that you fulfil all four parts of the request for a shorter time period, working back as long as possible from November 2013 and disregarding the request for the number of calls put through to a social worker (in parts iii and iv).
i. One Out of Hours Social Worker is on duty at all times and is supported by a Duty Manager.
ii. the number has never fallen below the minimum standard.
iii. This information is not held and is therefore exempt under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
iv. The information you requested can be found here. All calls were answered by an OOH social worker and then passed to the appropriate Social Work Area Team for follow up during normal hours.
