FOI Request - Housing List
My husband and I have yet again gone down two places on the housing list, can you please therefore tell me:
(1) The location of each applicant on the housing list above us.
(2) The length of time they have been on the housing list.
(1) Local authorities in Scotland are required by Legislation to operate an open housing list. This means that any person who has attained the aged of 16 years and over can apply to go on any housing list in Scotland irrespective of where they permanently reside.
The Council’s housing allocation policy currently operates three separate lists for housing. These are the waiting list (those applicants who are seeking to be Council tenants), the transfer list (Council tenants who are seeking an alternative property) and the homeless list (those applicants who have been assessed as statutory homeless as defined by the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987, as amended. The Council operates a quota system for each list with a variation allowed for each list of -/+ 5%. Officers will allocate from any of these lists having regard to particular needs and the quota of allocations that have been made to date over the financial year. The quotas are set annually and for 2013/14 these are:-
Waiting list (40%), Homeless List (40%) and Transfer List (20%)
Your housing application is currently on the waiting list. You are currently on the waiting list seeking a two bedroom ground floor property in Forres and Findhorn. Positions on the housing list change regularly. This is usually caused by changes in applicant circumstances and other households either entering or leaving the housing lists. As at 31 January 2012, your application is 9th on the list for Forres and 6th on the list for Findhorn.
The locations of each applicant who is above you on the waiting list for Forres is as follows:
