Educational Psychology Service - Code of Conduct

All Moray Educational Psychologists work in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Chartered Psychologists laid down by the British Psychological Society.  This defines the main ethical principles governing professional practice. Each principle is described in a statement of values and a set of professional standards which include:

  • Respect –  for the dignity and worth of all persons, confidentiality, the right of clients to informed consent and self determination
  • Competence – in professional skills and a commitment to   professional development
  • Responsibility – for the welfare of clients and high standards of professional and personal conduct
  • Integrity – honesty, accuracy, clarity and fairness

The profession is regulated by the Health Professions Council and all registered psychologists have been bound by the code of practice of the HPC which can be found at:
