The UK public elects Members of Parliament (MPs) to represent their interests and concerns in the House of Commons within a constituency. MPs are involved in considering and proposing new laws, and can ask government ministers questions about current issues. For a general election, the Moray Council area is covered by 2 constituencies: Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey, and Aberdeenshire North and Moray East. The current MP for Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey is Graham Leadbitter - SNP and the current MP for Aberdeenshire North and Moray East is Seamus Logan - SNP other MPs can be found here on the UK Parliament website. |
Member of Scottish Parliament (MSP) |
MSPs represent the people of Scotland in their constituency on matters that can be decided by the Scottish Parliament. These devolved matters include education, transport, planning, agriculture, tourism, health and the environment. Moray Council area is split between Moray Constituency and Gordon Constituency. |
