I am writing to enquire about the closure of Dufftown Museum (The Tower, The Square, Dufftown, AB55 4AD).

1. Could you please supply me with a) the opening date and b) the closing date of this museum? (I believe it opened in 1976, but do not have the closing date.)

2. Could you please also let me know where the collection went when the museum closed?

3. Could you please let me know what happened to the museum building after the closure?

4. What was the reason for the closure of Dufftown Museum?

b) Closed in 1977

3. It was rented out to the Tourist Information Centre.

In order to be helpful we can provide the attached Committee report from 2005 that concerns the use of Dufftown Tower.
