Tenants Rent Increase Consultation 2025-2028

We are consulting with tenants on the rent increase options between 20 November 2024 and 3 January 2025. If you are a tenant, please make sure that you tell us your preferred choice.

Your preferred rent increase level
We are considering our budgets for the upcoming years. This year, we are consulting on a rent increase, every year, for the next three years.   This approach will help both you and us to plan for the longer term and know what your rent will be for each year.  It will make sure that we continue to meet our duties to tenants as a landlord, respond to tenants' priorities and maintain high levels of service delivery.

More Information

You can read more about the rent increase options in our Rent Increase Information Leaflet 2025-28,  This includes information on:

  • why we are consulting on a rent increase
  • how we use the rent you pay
  • the investment priorities and current commitments which are used in planning rent levels
  • our rent levels and how they compare with other landlords
  • different options for you to consider and choose from.

Tell us what you think
We will be contacting you by email or post so please keep a look out in your inbox and mail.  Your email or letter will include a unique link to our online rent increase survey.  Please use this unique link to tell us your preferred rent option.  By using the personal link you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £75 voucher. It will only take you a few minutes to answer the questions.  If you need help to fill in the survey, please contact us by phoning 0300 123 4566 or emailing housing@moray.gov.uk.

There is also a general link to our online Rent Increase Survey 2025-28 but please note that unless you access the survey using the unique link that was included in your email or letter, we cannot enter you into the prize draw.

The consultation will close on 3 January 2025.

What will happen when the consultation ends?
We will use your feedback to prepare a report to Elected Members who will decide the level of rent increase for Council tenants for 2025 – 2028. Once a decision has been made, we will write and tell you each year what your new rent will be at least four weeks before any change is applied to your rent.
