1. How many additional support needs places the Council has to allocate to children transitioning from nursery to school?

2. How many children have been presented to the asn allocations group (panel) in the last 5 years?

3. How many children have been allocated a place in an asn setting and how many children have been placed in a mainstream setting in the same 5 year period?

Response 26-04-2024

1. As we do not have special schools, we do not have specific additional support needs places.

2. ASN Resources Group has only been in place since April 2022. During that time, 1129 applications have been considered. There is not a break down of individual children in this as they could be considered for multiple resources (e.g. staffing, transport, equipment) and some of the applications are also for multiple children.

3.  We have no specific ASN settings, and the authority do not place children in specific schools based on ASN.
