Local Government Election 2022

A Local Government (Council) election will be held on Thursday 5 May 2022 to elect 26 members (Councillors) to the Moray Council. 

About this election

Local Government (Council) elections are operated under the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system. Voters use numbers to mark their ballot paper ranking candidates in preferential order. More information about this - Single Transferable Vote explained

Moray Council area is covered by eight multi-member wards. Each ward has either 3 or 4 councillor seats.

Statutory Notices

The Notice of election is due to be published on 14 March 2022.

Count and Results

The election count will be held electronically on Friday 6 May. Results will be available throughout the day on Friday 6 May as each of the eight wards is counted and declared.
