Request 101002384260

Please provide me with the information for the 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20 to date, financial years. Please break this information down into figures for each month.

Do relatives need to pay for repairs to gravestones or does the council cover the cost?

If relatives do pay, how much money does the council make from this?

If the council covers the cost, how much does this cost?

Where possible, please provide your response in the following format – xls.

Following recent budget reductions relatives need to pay for all repairs to headstones unless it can be proved that the damage was caused by council workers.

In previous years there was a programme of repairs in place a few years ago where relatives/lair holders could not be traced and some headstones that had been vandalised were included in the repairs.

No charges were recovered from relatives/lair holders and so no profit was made.

Details of the cost of repairs are not held on a cemetery by cemetery basis.

In Financial Year 2017/18 the cost was £5,000.  In 2018/19 the cost was £4950.  No repairs have taken place in 2019/20.
