I would be grateful if you could assist and send me some information on the following:
Process of applying for a breeding license
When and who inspects premises (before license is issued?)
How often are premises inspected (are license holders given prior notice to inspection?)
The length of the license.
Any chargers or fees to be paid
Is renewal of license automatic or do license holders have to reapply and get inspected again
A list of active and approved breeders in the area.

Process of applying for a breeding licence – when and who inspects premises: 

     Initial inspection for granting of licence – Animal Services Officer and Veterinary Surgeon appointed by Moray Council in terms of the Breeding of Dogs Act 1973.

Renewals:

     Animal Services Officer only.

How often are premises inspected (are licence holders given prior notice to inspection):

     The length of the licence. Annual inspections plus reactive inspections (e.g. complaint or enquiry).

Any charges or fees to be paid:

     £105 for Licence plus Veterinary costs of initial inspection (unable to give exact amount as depends on length of time).

Is renewal of licence automatic or do licence holders have to reapply and get inspected again:

     Licence holder has to reapply with a renewal application. Animal Services Officer only inspects again.
