FOI Request Freehold and Leasehold Council Properties

Request 101001654201

I request the following information:

(1)    The number of residential properties (houses, flats, maisonettes) where the council owns the freehold but is no longer the leaseholder, i.e. the number of properties sold under the Right to Buy.

(2)    The number of properties in the answer to (1) where the leaseholder registered address for correspondence is different to the leasehold address (an away address)

(3)    If available, the number of these homes (answer to (2)) where the leasehold was sold after April 2012.

Response 22-11-2017

When buying a property in Scotland, there is no freehold and leasehold distinction.  When you buy the property is 100% yours thus everything is 'freehold' in Scotland.

Therefore all the properties that the council own are freehold.  For the number of properties that the councils owns:
This is exempt under Section 25 of the freedom of information (Scotland) Act 2002, as data is publicly available here.

For the number of properties sold under the Right to Buy:
This is exempt under Section 25 of the freedom of information (Scotland) Act 2002, as data is publicly available here.
