Community Council Elections 2021

Community Council elections in Moray for all 20 community councils are held every four years. The main elections which took place in September 2021 have concluded, 14 community councils established without contest, 6 community councils failed to form due to insufficient interest. No community councils are subject to ballot.

Community Council Election - December 2021

Following petition by three areas that were unsuccessful in re-establishing in September 2021 a further election is to be held from 26 October 2021, this includes;

Nominations have now closed. Findochty & District and Lennox Community Councils are established uncontested as the number of nominations did not exceed the number of seats available. Results of the outcome are in the notice shown below.

Dyke Landward Community Council is subject to a postal ballot as the number of nominations exceeded the number of seats available. This will take place in December 2021. Further information will made available in due course. A note of the candidates standing can be found below.

Postal Voting Packs

Postal voting packs have been dispatched on Friday 26 November to all eligible voters in the Dyke Landward Community Council area. Voters need to return their completed postal vote to the Returning Officer to arrive by Wednesday 15 December. 

Voters should allow extra time for posting back their postal vote due to mail services being busy during the pre-Christmas period.

The Community Council Election count will take place on Thursday 16 December. The count is open to candidates only due to venue and covid restrictions on capacity. Results will be posted as soon as they are available on the afternoon of Thursday 16 December.
