FOI Request CCTV Cameras
Please tell me how many CCTV cameras the council owned in each year going back to 2013.
I would like my answer broken down per year since January 2013, up to the date of the receipt of this email.
Please also tell me the cost of upkeep for CCTV cameras per year.
Please tell me both public space CCTV, and all CCTV owned and operated by TMC.
Response by Department:
Direct Services (Waste): 11 cameras in 5 locations since 2013. Total expenditure on upkeep since 2013 is £8234.
The total number of CCTV cameras in buildings (not including schools) is:
2013 to 2015 = 68
2016 = 84
The cost for annual maintenance was:
2013/14 - CCTV Servicing - £334.96 and repairs £6,383.47
2014/15 - CCTV Servicing - £528.95 and repairs £14,082.56
2015/16 - CCTV Servicing - £538.87 and repairs £10,795.49
2016/17 - NO SERVICING CARRIED OUT, but repairs £13,215.49
The number of CCTV cameras in schools is:
2013/14 - Primary 112; Secondary 115
2014/15 - Primary 113; Secondary 115
2015/16 - Primary 113; Secondary 117
2016/17 - Primary 115; Secondary 119
2017/18 - No audit has been undertaken yet
We are unable to provide maintenance figures for CCTV cameras in schools as the costs are not identified separately in our repairs & maintenance budget. We would have to look at every invoice to ascertain which ones refer to CCTV therefore this information is exempt under Section12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002- Excessive Cost of Compliance.
