FOI Request Domestic Abuse Services Funding for 13-17 Year Olds
1. Spending on 13-17 year old victims of domestic abuse for financial years:
2. Spending on 13-17 year old perpetrators of domestic abuse for financial years:
We will be using the information to gain a better understanding of the levels of local authority funding for 13-17 year old victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse across the UK. We will not be naming any local authorities – we will be analysing the data as a whole - calculating average levels of spending and comparing it to prevalence reports of domestic abuse in this age group. The results will be released as part of a research project looking at the best practice provision of services for this age range. We realise that only 16 year olds and up are legally defined as experiencing abuse, and would accept that data if that’s what you hold, but if you hold data on younger people we would welcome the more comprehensive picture. We would also appreciate knowing which Council department is responsible for funding this provision and have added a column to reflect that.
The department has confirmed that support is provided to victims and perpetrators but this is provided as part of the overall service and cannot be quantified so specifically this information is not held and is therefore exempt under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
