FOI Request - Named Person Scheme Complaints
Under Freedom of Information legislation, please provide details of any complaints or concerns raised about the Named Person scheme, which is currently being implemented under the Scottish Government's Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) policy. For clarity, this is the process of appointing a Named Person to every child in Scotland normally a social worker or head teacher. Although the policy does not officially go live until next year, it has already been rolled out in many areas. Please provide:
1. Any complaints/concerns raised with the council directly, or with schools/social work departments regarding the implementation of the Named Person scheme.
2. Any complaints/concerns raised with the council directly, or with schools/social work departments regarding any cases/incidents which the Named Person has been involved in. This should include any official complaints made against Named Persons.
3. For each, please provide an outline of each complaint including as much detail as possible, the date the complaint was made, the outcome of the complaint (upheld, etc), and any disciplinary action taken against council staff.
1. No complaints in relation to the named person role, however we would like to clarify that the named person service is provided by the NHS for all children prior to attending primary 1 and by the local authority for children from primary 1, social workers are not named persons.
