Why
are we not forming stronger links with other councils as part of the DBS
process?
|
Sharing services with other
Councils is fraught with difficulties. DBS
is about sharing services internally and is easier to manage and extract
savings. Once we have come
through DBS, we will be in a better position to share with other
organisations.
|
When
will I get this technology context?
|
Priority
will be given to those services who will deliver the biggest benefit in
efficiency savings as a result of having new technology.
|
What
is Operational Support?
|
Operational
Support is way of simplifying, standardising and sharing processes,
systems and staff across the council.
The September newsletter (stored on the DBS intranet page) outlined
the scope and context.
|

|
Will
services be cut or reduced?
|
Services
and the delivery of them will be made more efficient
|
Will
there be one phone number for the Council?
|
There
will certainly be much fewer numbers, probably less than 10.
|
Will
I still be able to get the things I need to do my job under the new
procurement arrangements?
|
Yes
|
Will
the Council be paper free?
|
Paper-light
|
Is
there more scope in customer service to do more contact with homeless
applications via telephone interviews?
|
The
Programme has not gone into that level of detail.
|
Are
pool cars being introduced?
|
Yes.
Use of pool cars will save a great deal of money.
