Paying for Residential Care
Contributing to the Cost of Residential Care
If you or someone you know is thinking about moving into a care home, you will probably have some important questions.
One of the key concerns is finance. The rules about charging for residential care are complex. If you consider you may qualify for financial help from Moray Council, we will firstly need to assess your care needs to look at whether you are eligible for support and require residential services, before we ask you to undergo a financial assessment.
Everyone will be expected to make some contribution towards their care home fees. The amount depends on several things, such as your income and capital, along with your eligibility for Free Personal and Nursing Care.
