Mentoring Young Talent
MYT is a Moray Council project that is dedicated to help young people across Moray to discover, establish and build on their talents.
Mentoring Young Talent (MYT) is a volunteer mentor programme supported by Moray Council. We provide two programmes - one aimed at supporting Care Experienced Young People (CEYP) S1 – S6 across all Moray secondary schools and another aimed at young people aged 16 – 24 years (up to age 26 if previously CEYP) who have yet to identify and manage their next steps in either employment, training or education.
Each young person is matched with an individual mentor as an impartial adult to talk to and build a positive relationship with. In previous programmes the young mentees have seen their confidence and self-esteem increase, and there are personal and professional benefits for the mentor too.
We are always looking for more volunteers - The chief executive and team managers have agreed to support any staff member who wish to take this opportunity. Where possible, staff will be able to use this as a personal development opportunity and provide mentoring support during normal working hours. Full training and support will be provided.
